Guten Tag and Grüezi

Language Tuition for German and Swiss German

I have been teaching German as a Foreign Language since 2012, primarily at the Language Centre of the University of Manchester but also in many other settings (e.g. evening classes at other language schools and private lessons at the student’s home or office). I am now mainly teaching online and am looking forward to meeting many more students in my online classes to practise and learn German together from the comfort of our own homes.

Qualification and CPD

I have a certificate for teaching German as a Foreign Language to Adults from the Goethe Institut and I regularly take part in training sessions to keep abreast with current trends in teaching methodology.

I am also a member of the Alliance for Language Learning (ALL) as well as Arbeitskreis DaF (AkDaF) in Switzerland.

I have been teaching German from Beginner to Advanced level for many years. I have experience in teaching groups of students as well as conducting sessions for individuals. As a qualified examiner, I was also regulary involved in the assessment of the Goethe exams from Beginner to Advanced level.

Teaching Style

My classes are informal, interactive and fun. I believe that a language is more than a way to speak, it’s a way to make sense of the world that surrounds us and it is my aim to allow others see the “German world”.

What other learners think

I personally believe Sabrina's teaching method is great. She's well organized and always tries to focus on the interesting and important aspects of the topics covered throughout the year. In addition, her explanations are always well-balanced, enough simple in order to understand but also enough deep so as no to miss anything. Her methodology demonstrated a good balance between elements of reading, writing, listening and speaking, with lots of opportunities for discussion and games and activities to consolidate learning.
